Homemade Jerk Marinate

My version of homemade jerk marinate. Not authentic but my try and tasted version which never fail me.😊


Ingredients I Used:

👩🏾‍🍳 1/4 cup fresh orange juice.

👩🏾‍🍳 Fresh Juice of 2 lime + zest.

👩🏾‍🍳 1/4 cup soy sauce.

👩🏾‍🍳 1/4 cup olive oil.

👩🏾‍🍳 1 to 2 table spoon raw honey.

👩🏾‍🍳 6 spring onion( scallions).

👩🏾‍🍳 1 medium onion.

👩🏾‍🍳 2 scotch bonnet ( more or less 🔥🔥).

👩🏾‍🍳 2 tablespoon fresh thyme ( 1 tbsp if using dried).

👩🏾‍🍳 1 tablespoon minced garlic.

👩🏾‍🍳 1 tablespoon of all purpose season ( or dried jerk seasoning).

👩🏾‍🍳 1/2 tablespoon salt.

👩🏾‍🍳 1 teaspoon ground pimento ( allspice).

👩🏾‍🍳 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.

👩🏾‍🍳 1 teaspoon ground ginger.

👩🏾‍🍳 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg.

👩🏾‍🍳 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.

👩🏾‍🍳 1 teaspoon smoked paprika.

👩🏾‍🍳 1 small bay leaves ( optional).


Methods:

👩🏾‍🍳 Wash and slice the fresh ingredients.


👩🏾‍🍳 Put all ingredients in blender and blend until well combined. Some like it well blended like a smoothie but I like mine lumpy with a little texture so I use the option pulse on on my blender.


👩🏾‍🍳 Ready to use.


Tips: always make sure you marinate your meat/ fish overnight for best results.
